Thomas Lempriere co-founded the Bank of Van Diemen's Land in 1823, Australia’s second bank. His son, William Lempriere established a diverse commodity trading business in the early days of the colony. Over generations, the business diversified and expanded across a number of sectors, both domestically and internationally.
